Tittle of the article: Chicago's blizzard bill at $37.3 million
Summary: The city of Chicago spent $37.3 million for this year's blizzard, that more than double the city's entire 2011 snow budget of $17.4 million. This Groundhog Day Blizzard that dumped more than 21 inches of snow on the city in early February was the third-largest snowfall in the city's history. The city had spent $76 million for the 1999 blizzard that brought 21.6 inches of snow. Because the 1999 storm started during the New Year's holiday, the city was required to pay plow drivers holiday overtime wages, and the situation of that storm is worse than this year's. The city hopes recoup much of the costs through federal disaster relief funds and airport revenue, and remain under its snow budget overall for the year.
My Opinion: A $37.3 million was cost on snowfall is non-idea of my mind. It seems that our country has a strong arm to fight with disaster. What happened during the snowy days when I just hiding at my home? A blizzard was gone and a $37.3 million was cost, and, things will be the same.

*Tiltle of article: MORE SCHOOL LESS PAY

*Summary:
More women than men have a high sholl education, more have university degrees, and more have graduate degrees. Women earned about 75 precent of what their male counterparts earned in 2009. The government agencies found some social issues which the fewer women are married that in the past, and they are marrying later in life- education, employment, hearlth and crime, and violence. The labor force numeber of women was increased nearly doubled rate from 1948 to 1997. The rate for men has fallen from about 89 precent in 1948 to 75 precent in 2009. More women than men having a chronic medical conditin, and crime against women has declined, but the rape rate have remained stable in recent years, that implies women are at greeter risk of stalking than men.

*My opinion:
I think that is a social issue, more women wanna get higher education and take too much time in school. Therefore, the labor force rate will be decreased, then the falimly income will be than less before. Women had gotten more stressful at workplace, social or family, therefore, they have a chronic medical condition will be increase.

4.Title: Fed fight ' bath salt' drugs
5.Summary:
A new action called 'bath salt' is not a real bath salt, it is dangerous synthetic stimulants that looks like cocaine, with similar effects. Nowadays, people could through different ways to buy drugs. Sold at tobacco shops , gas stations and head shops. Even some people bought on the Internet. Poison control centers are taking action all the time.

6.My opinion
Drugs are not only bad for the people who bought that , drugs also could bring unfortuninate to people's family. Drugs even could cause people died. I think the related departments should take action as soon as possible to stop the people who sale drugs and who eat drugs. For ourselves, we need to know how to protect ourselves and reject drugs forever.

Gregg Pupecki said, manager of the Chicago water taxis, " It will be extremely interest in this year to water taxis, when it runs in two a weeks. Because of the Wacker Drive Construction , people will want to use water taxis than before." Taxis have got four station. These are; at Michigan Ave, between La Salle and Clark Street, Madison Street, and Chicago town 18th street. Water taxis will start running March 14. A water taxi can take 50-100 passengers. It costs ,for single trip per person 2$, for 31 day pass 45$ . Eating and drinking are allowed in the water taxis.
6My opinion.

Last year, 2010 water taxis got lot interest from people so the management of the water taxis bought new taxis. They hopes more passengers in 2011 because of Wacker driver construction. I suppose People will be interested because the journey by water taxi is also fun. It costs 2$ per person per trip , it is not expensive and also people can drink alcohol in weekends. These all are attractive for people. After I read this article, I look forward to get on to water taxi.

I agree with most people that were surveyed. I don’t have any interest in the royal wedding. I think it is more interesting to English people. I also don’t like monarchies very much.

Summary:There are more and more people start to use bicycle in chicago. Some hot spot of chicago has have many bike rider.Ron Burke think it's a function of having a bike lane there, population density and a community where biking is extremely popular. But the bike lines are not enough. He think the growing popularity of cycling throughout the city reinforces the need for more bike lanes and more protected bike lanes.

My opinion:In my country bike is one of the most important vehicle, but it is seem that America do not have many bikes and bike lines.I think bike is very easy and cheap to use and it is good for health. So it would be good if there are more bikes.

*Title of the article: Film not quite close enoigh to Cooper

* A summary of the article
The story tells us about the jazz singer Ron Cooper, which was a figure in Chicago jazz for many years, performing at the Green Mill and influencing local staples such as on Freeman and Fareed Haque (both of whom appear in this documentary, shot from 2005-2007). The film captures Cooper’s incredible voice during performances at sports including the platform of the Blue Line. It was a train on which the homeless spent sleeping for many years before he died (2007). He died in 2007.
The film doesn’t get as close to its subject as it could have. A lot of his friends and bandmates were speculating about information Grove should have gotten directly from Cooper, whose past largely remains foggy. He was chuckling about summarizing the price of an album as “$1 per tune”. The man had a wonderful voice and his song “If I’m Not Home” saying about painful gravitational pull of artistic talent and the way so many people shy away from the homeless. Constantly embraced and rejected, Cooper comes off as a people person, full of pride and regret, who didn’t realize stardom wasn’t going to make the first move until it was too late.

*My opinion:

The author tried to tell us the real story about the life of the man named Grove. How poor his life was. But its so sad that Grove's friends wanted to use his some unknown information abouthim to make their lifes better.

Title of the article: A sad anniversarySummary

It been 3 years since 5 students were shot to death at Northern Illinois University’s. On February 14, 2008 Patrick Korellis was in the lecture hall at Northern Illinois University that day. When Steve Kazmierczak a former student walked to the stage and he shot five students and 19 students were injured. Patrick Korellis was one of the students that were shot in the head that day. Since that horrible experience it hard for him to watch a movie in a dark room or even enjoy a play in the auditorium without remembering him about what happen on Valentine Day 2008. Korellis said. I try to lived my life day by day” and “I’m learning not to take life for granted”.
Opinion
I agree with Korellis when he said that by living that experience has changed his life completely because sometimes we take our life for granted until something bad happens. We need to live our life like it will be our last day because we don’t know what could happen to us.
