Where in the world are you able to take pictures with a dinosaur, a space shuttle, and president’s statues, all for free? If you thought Washington D.C., then you are correct! I went to Washington D.C. for the first time during spring break and there is more to do there than to take boring history tours. I’m going to tell you about my spring break in Washington DC. When people think of Washington D.C., they think of the Capitol and of the White House, but there is much more to see there! I will tell you about the beautiful memorials and the museums.
Memorials are not just the big buildings such as the Lincoln or Jefferson Memorial, but come in all shapes and sizes. The FDR Memorial has many beautiful waterfalls and four outdoor rooms that each represents one of the terms of FDR’s presidency. The WWII Memorial has pillars that represent each state. The Vietnam War Memorial has the names of all of the soldiers that died during the Vietnam War. You can see many people crying at the wall.
Some of the most famous museums in the world are in Washington D.C., and they are all free to see and open every day! My favorites are the Air and Space Museum and Natural History Museum. You can see the first airplane at the Air and Space Museum. You can also see the ships that went to the moon. You can see one of the world’s biggest diamonds at the Natural History Museum. There are also many more beautiful gems and fun exhibits.
Washington D.C. is a very beautiful, clean city. It is also American Capitol. There have many the beautiful memorials and the museums. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money for a trip, Washington D.C. is a good choose because the beautiful memorials and the famous museums are all free to see. Going to Washington D.C., you will have a very fun time. If you have never gone Washington D.C., please take your time and go to there soon.
