We all have hear about a Blizzard Warning. At 3pm on Tuesday the blizzard start to kick into effect. The wind that accompany the blizzard was so strong. The estimate was 16"- 20 inches of snow. The magnitude of this snowstorm in Chicago was the great storm back in Jan 26-27, 1967. Over the course of 35 hours of snow fell on Chicago. The city was paralyzing for days. Hundreds of stalled vehicles including 800 CTA were helpless in the street, dozens died. In the last 124 years. Chicago has been hit with 41 winter storms. According to the National Weather Services the top 5 storms was in Jan 26-27 1967 with 23.0 inches - Jan 1-3, 1999 21.6 with inches - March 25-26 1930 with 19.2 inches - Jan 13-14 1979 with 18.8 inches and March 7-8 1931 with 16.2 inches. Incredible right!! The Chicago Streets Sanitation Commissioner said that they have 274 trucks to be deploy and also they are prepared if the need to contacted any other private contractor if need it. The president of CTA said that they will be running on normal schedule. The Interim CEO Terry Mazany said that all parents should been checking the school districts website if their any changes.

Opinion:
By reading this article it give me some information that i didn't know. Also to see how Chicago is getting ready to the storms is perfect. We need to listen or watch any type of news to have a update of what it going on outside.

  1. The unexpected blizzard meant that no planes were able to take off for two days. After blizzard, many people were completely shut off from the outside world. I wish everybody will safe:-)
